Consultation to Stimulate Volumising Skin Collagen

Volumising Skin Collagen treatments activate the skin's natural regenerative process to help replenish lost facial collagen. Collagen is the most common protein in the body and helps support the skin's inner structure.

The Procedure

As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Volumising Skin Collagen treatment helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish wrinkles on the face, neck, decolletage and can be used to treat hip dip and cellulite.

  • PLLA works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalise collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

  • As the PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production.

  • Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

What types of Volumising Skin Collagen Treatments are available?

The two main groups of volumising skin collagen treatments that are TGA-approved in Australia:

  • HA based (Hyaluronic Acid)

  • Non-HA based

  • HA-based: This group includes products like skin remodelling, containing both low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Skin remodelling primarily focuses on skin hydration but also offers some skin tightening and volume enhancement benefits. Typically, two to three sessions are performed 4 to 10 weeks apart.

  • Non-HA based: These volumising skin collagen treatments are primarily geared towards skin tightening and volume enhancement. They encompass substances such as PLLA (Poly-L-lactic acid), as well as newer options like polynucleotides-PN (Rejuran). While PLLA strikes a balance between volume enhancement and skin tightening, Polynucleotides (PN), such as Rejuran, enhance skin quality and glow, complementing the overall skin rejuvenation process.

FAQ’S About Volumising Skin Collagen

  • Because PLLA stimulates your own body to produce collagen, this process takes time, typically around 6-12 weeks. After the PLLA treatment, water mixed with the product absorbs over 1-2 days, and it appears that “nothing” was done. Then, as the PLLA particles start stimulating collagen synthesis, you'll begin to see mild improvement after about 4-6 weeks. At this time we often proceed with another session to build on initial improvement. Most patients see full results after 2-3 treatments.

  • Because PLLA is derived from lactic acid, a natural body bi-product, it almost never creates a reaction when placed into the skin. Initially, because some fluid is inserted with the product, you may feel slightly swollen after the treatment  but this resolves over 1-2 days. As with any cosmetic treatment, there is a possibility of bruising after treatments, but bruises typically resolve over a few days.

  • Once you complete your treatment course, results can last up to 2.5 years. Some patients need one maintenance dose at 12 months.

  • Cost may vary based on your need and desired outcome. A tailored plan based on your budget and areas of concerns will be discussed on your consultation session

  • * Within the first 24 hours after treatment, apply an ice pack to the treatment area to help reduce swelling

    * Avoid makeup, heavy exercise and saunas/steam rooms for 24 hours

    * Avoid excessive sun, UV sunlamp exposure and excessive temperatures until initial swelling and redness have resolved

*Massage the treated areas for 5 days, 5 times a day for  5 minutes

  • Yes and this is generally ideal. These treatment can be combined with other treatments. Many clients are eager to combine multiple treatments into one treatment plan in order to achieve each of their aesthetic goals, which may be necessary if you have a wider range of appearance-related concerns that can’t be treated with a singular treatment.
