Facial rejuvenation treatments are revolutionising the aesthetic medicine field by offering long-lasting solutions for those looking to enhance their appearance. At Face to Face By Marjan, we specialise in restoring facial volume, and signs of ageing and improving skin rejuvenation treatments for the abdomen and cellulite. Our treatments work as a collagen stimulator, encouraging your body to naturally produce more collagen to restore volume and improve skin texture over time.

This guide has information about how this treatment is used. It includes details about the results, cost, and benefits of the treatment. As per the TGA guidelines, we can't reference ‘Sculptra’ however we'd like our clients to be further educated about the treatment, please see those TGA guidelines here.

"Sculptra contains the substance Poly-L-lactic acid, which is included in Schedule 4 to the Poisons Standard and is prohibited from being advertised to the public. References to Sculptra (however made) in a clinic’s promotional material are likely to result in the promotional material also being an advertisement in relation to a therapeutic good and would likely contravene the Act." - TGA

What is Sculptra?

As we age, our collagen production gradually decreases. This cosmetic procedure is a special filler made of Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that boosts collagen production, restoring volume and enhancing skin texture gradually. The PLLA lasts up to 25 months but the body's collagen produced may last longer even up to 5-10 years. This is a great option for treating larger areas like the abdomen and cellulite.

Abdominal Skin Tightening

Tightening loose skin on your abdomen can be difficult, even with regular exercise and a healthy diet. This treatment specifically targets women who have lost weight or had babies and are struggling with loose skin. Unlike Tru-Flex, which is a muscle stimulator, this treatment offers a non-surgical solution to enhance the appearance of the abdomen by:

  • Stimulates collagen production and will tighten loose skin due to pregnancy or weight loss.

  • Get smoother skin: This treatment may fill out deep stretch mark scars.

Before and After Results in Sydney

Many patients have experienced significant improvements in the appearance of their abdomen after these treatments. Client results vary depending on individual factors, but usually show less sagging and a firmer, more toned look.

Like any medical procedure, this treatment can have potential side effects. While most patients tolerate the treatment well, some may experience mild to moderate side effects.

It is often recommended to massage the treated areas gently for five minutes, five times a day for five days after the procedure to help distribute the product evenly and reduce the risk of lump formation.

Sculptra for Cellulite

Cellulite is common in women, affecting up to 90% regardless of age or body type. It can be difficult to treat, but Sculptra can dramatically help by:

  • Stimulating Collagen Production: This helps thicken the skin and reduce the dimpling effect caused by cellulite.

  • Smoothing Out Lumps and Bumps: This treatment smooths out bumps and lumps, creating a more even appearance on the skin.

  • Subcision Technique: breakdown tethering of cellulite and then insert Sculptra.

The Procedure

What to Expect During Treatment

Our treatments are minimally invasive and typically take about 30 to 60 minutes.

Treatment areas:

Face

  • Cheeks: Commonly used to add volume to the cheeks, enhancing facial contours and creating a more youthful appearance.

  • Nasolabial Folds: These lines run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

  • Marionette Lines: These lines extend from the corners of the mouth to the chin.

  • Jawline: Create a more defined jawline by adding volume and improving skin texture.

  • Temples: Volume loss in the temples can result in a hollow appearance. Treating this area, along with the lateral vector and behind the ligament line, can have a positive domino effect, enhancing the overall facial structure.

  • Jowls: This treatment has a tightening effect and reduces the jowls.

Body

  • Buttocks: Often used for non-surgical butt lift, or BBL, helping to add volume and improve the contour.

  • Thighs: It can be used to reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve skin texture on the thighs.

  • Arms: Can enhance the appearance of the upper arms by adding volume and reducing the appearance of sagging skin.

  • Abdomen: Can help to tighten and tone the abdomen, improving the overall appearance.

Considerations Prior to Booking Treatment

The following are important treatment considerations for you to discuss with your registered nurse and understand in order to help avoid unsatisfactory results and complications.

  • SCULPTRA has not been studied under the age of 18.

  • Tell your registered nurse if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The safety of SCULPTRA has not been studied in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Tell your registered nurse if you are taking any medications used to decrease the body’s natural defense system (immunosuppressants). SCULPTRA injections may then result in an increased risk of infection.

  • Tell your registered nurse if you have a bleeding disorder or are taking any medication that can thin your blood or prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and warfarin. As with any injection procedure this may increase your risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

  • Avoid or minimise hard (strenuous) exercise and exposure to extensive sun, UV lamps, indoor tanning beds/booths, or extreme temperatures within the first 24 hours after treatment with SCULPTRA. Any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, pain and/or itching at the injection site.

  • Tell your registered nurse if you have recently had skin therapies such as laser treatment, mechanical or chemical peels or hair removal. This may lead to increased risk of side effects such as redness, swelling, heat or pain of the skin.

If you have any additional questions about any topic in this section, please discuss further with your registered nurse. See for more information.
